The Moroccan rug stands out as a unique and captivating style, characterized by its utilization of locally sheep’s wool, which is carefully woven into intricate patterns. The colors of these Berber rugs are derived from natural elements like henna, pomegranate, saffron, indigo, alfalfa, and mint, resulting in a rich and earthy color palette.
👀 Kindly take note that the background color utilized in the photos is #5 – Carnation Pink
Rug Technique: Intricate Hanbel
Pile: Flat to Low
Materials: 100% sheep’s wool, with dyes made from organic local plants and spices.
👀Time to Make
Because of the detailed work involved in weaving the symbols on the rug, the current weave time is approximately 2-4 weeks. To ensure each rug is crafted with the utmost care, we visit the artisans every 2 to 3 weeks to capture the progression of the weaving process. While most of the rug’s surface is flat, the designs feature a slightly raised pile, adding texture and dimension.
You’ll be rewarded with a truly unique, handmade piece—well worth the wait!
Each design is a unique creation born from the artisan’s imagination, incorporating symbols that represent protection from evil, strength, beauty, and respect, among other meanings. Because these rugs are entirely handmade, slight variations in size (up to 10 cm / 4 inches variation) can happen, reflecting the organic nature of the materials used.
👀 Additional information
Our rug images are taken in natural daylight to accurately depict the rug’s appearance, and if you require additional photos under different lighting, please let us know, and we will be happy to accommodate your request. Keep in mind that the appearance of the rug may vary under different lighting conditions, so we encourage you to experiment with different lighting options to find the best location for your rug in your home.
👀 Care
For good maintenance of the rug, it is advisable to vacuum regularly. In the case of a stain, it is best to try and remove it with a moist towel of warm water immediately instead of letting the stain dry. Lift as much as possible without rubbing.
Wool is also self-clean, and if you can hang or lay the carpet out in a fresh breeze occasionally will be good.
